These are Ty's buddies. They are not in his class they are actually in the four year old class. It amazes me he is just as tall as the four year olds. We had a great time at Ty's thanksgiving feast at his preschool. They sang some cute songs so I included one of them! They grow so fast it amazes me.

Cute little rash.....ooops!
My in-laws are visiting this week from Colorado and my mother-in-law wanted to cook some Salmon. So we had Salmon on the grill and it was amazing. I am not generally a fan of Salmon but it was really good. Aubrey was pounding the Salmon and Ty loved it too. Aubrey was on her 3rd plate when I asked Ryan to wipe her mouth because it was really messy. It was then that I realized it was not messing she was swelling. She was ANGRY when I took her plate away and I tried to keep my composure as I checked her out. Everyone was asking me questions and I just said I need to examine her and make sure she is ok. As I looked at her she continued to get redder. Her lips were starting to swell and her cheeks got more intense. I fortunatly have a neighbor for a doctor(thanks Chris) and we walked over and immediately he knew something was up. We were calm cool and collected but he made us hang out for a few minutes and things started getting better. It was the most unique experience of my life. Poor Aubrey no Omega 3 Fat for you!

The stick to it mom!
So sometimes we have those times of... did I do the right thing... and this morning was one of them. I was out and about with Ty and Aubrey and we were checking out at a store and Ty was asking me for something and I looked over and he had opened the ENTIRE roll of Bubblegum Tape. I said ok I guess I am buying this. I looked at him and said because you did not ask first before you opened the gum there will be no gum. He was devastated and made a huge scene. I stuck to my guns (no pun intended) and insisted that he stop making a spectacle of himself and me and that he was not getting any gum. We got in the car and I proceeded to explain to him had he asked me first before he opened the gum he would be enjoying the gum right then. By the way I had the lady in the store throw the whole thing away to prove me point. We talked about how his job is to listen and obey and how I have to be obedient to the Lord even when I don't want to! I explained to him the magnitude of what happened and he was so sorry. He said " I am so sorry can I have some gum now?" I laughed inside but said no and the tears and screams started again. You know piece of me just wanted to give him the gum to shut him up but the stubborn person I am stuck to it and he still has had no gum. You know being a good mom is not always fun. It requires hard work and a strong spirit. I called my husband and told him what happened to get some sort of encouragement and all he said was "I LOVE YOU!" Those 3 little words were like a bandaid to my soul. He then expanded and told me how much he appreciated me and that I did the right thing. I know Ty is not happy with me right now but later in life I believe he will be thankful. Lord please continue to give me the strength to be a light in this dark world.

Ty has Rhythm
Another Cute performance by Ty Broughton at the summer VBS presentation. More pictures to come from the Summit Church VBS.
Ty at his first Vacation Bible School.
Ty went to his first vacation bible school at Tabernacle in Raleigh and had the time of his life. It was during the day so it gave mom a break and it was a great time. Here are some recaps.
So he has a blast as you will be able to see in this video. I think my favorite part is when the song is over he goes into his football player stance. Don't know where he got thay but it is so cute! We also had snowballs there afterwards and Aubrey got to enjoy some too!
Uh Oh Brother Got me!
So I went upstairs to switch over laundary and heard a scream and crying. I ran down the stairs to find Aubrey in tears. I asked Ty "What Happened?" And he said "the stairs ate sissy!" I said "what do you mean?" he said "the stairs ate Sissy!" I replied with "Did you push her down the stairs?" He answered "just a little bit..." So what he meant was "I pushed her down the stairs and she ate the stairs on the way down." Poor Aubrey! By the way it was only 2 stairs!

The prayers of my little man....
Ty says the cutest prayers every night it just kills me to hear them. His prayers typically go like this:
Dear God thank you for your blessings, Lord thank you for your heart, thank you for my sins, oh lord forgive me of my sins. Jesus thank you for dying on the cross for me. Thank you for my friends, thank you for mommy, daddy, and sissy(now he is calling her Aubs). Please give me good sleep so I wake up a happy boy...and it the morning I will have breakfast, Orange juice, and my vitamins. Thank you for Leslie(who is the music associates wife who Ty is in love with) and help her baby feel better.(By the way she does not have a baby and is not pregnant to my knowledge) In Jesus name AMEN!
I love to hear him pray but I love to hear his heart most of all. He has been going to a Vacation Bible School this week during the morning and he loved it. They are having a program tonight and Ty said he had been practicing and that he was going to be singing tonight. I can't believe how big my kids are getting. It kills me to think that one day they will be grown and have kids of their own. I am treasuring each moment I get with them. These ages with the kids right now are so fun and exciting. Thank you God for giving me the most amazing children. Help me to teach them how to love you and follow you all the days of their lives.

Our trip to Emerald Isle
We had the most amazing time at the beach this Mother's Day week. We rented a house at the beach for a week with another family. We had an amazing time together and it was so much fun to get to go to the beach when it is not 1 million degrees . Here are some of the pictures from our time at the beach! Enjoy!

Only Tuesday and so much done already!
So........Today is Tuesday and so many, ummmm... naughty things have happened already.Let's see where should I start? Monday Ty was a happy camper and I love that.... I watch a little girl during the day and I had just taken her upstairs leaving Ty and Aubrey downstairs for about 5 minutes. When I came down they were no where to be found. All of the sudden there was a giggle from the bathroom and I think "OH NO!" I open the door and Ty and Aubrey are soaking wet Ty had soaked toilet paper and thrown it on every wall in the bathroom. He told me that when the water ran out he used the plunger to get more water and then flushed the toilet for more water. Then I got the girls down for a nap and was making Ty his lunch. It was such a beautiful day that he was on the back deck playing. He got really quiet, so I looked out the kitchen window and he had his pants down and was peeing on the Coleman chair. I asked Ty, " what are you doing?" His response was, "I had to go potty!" I said , "you go in the potty" he said, " this is more fun."We concluded Monday and everyone was still alive.
Tuesday came and I had that same happy boy. He was using the swiffer wet jet to clean the wooden deck for me. He was also quoting some line from a movie jumping up and down saying "Go Kelly, Go Kelly put your hands up in the air Go Kelly."Of course I video tapped that! Then upstairs with me he decided he needed to go potty. Instead of using the toilet, he decided to pull down his pants and stand on his tippy toes and pee in the bath tub.To top the day off I was cooking dinner while the kids played in the living room. I looked out to check on them and they had gotten a hold of some permanent markers to color the carpet and each other. LOVELY! I did not discipline him, instead I told him that when dad came home that he would get it!What a week already. Is it Friday yet.

The love for God and Girls
Well I have to say nothing fills my heart more than when we turn on the road to go to our church Ty screams "YES WE ARE HERE AT CHURCH! " I love that he is so passionate about going there since we go there twice a week. He loves going to learn but more than anything he loves to sing and dance. We have a choir Cd that plays in the car that is our spring music and Ty knows every song and ask for certain ones like I am the DJ. The most precious thing happened this last Friday night we went to a conference at church and so ther were kids playing with him that he doesn't normally get the chance to play with because they are in an older class so he was pumped. We came to get him at 9:15pm and he didn't want to go home. He was chasing this cute little girl who was probably 5 or 6 and having a blast. As we continued to try to pull him away we were walking to the car and he said " Mom I love her, I don't know her name but I just love her so much it hurts." OH MY GOSH! What the heck he is not even 3 yet but somehow knows how much he loves her. It was so cute but the thought came over me that one day he will really say those words and I will be so excited but crushed. The love a mom has for a boy is just unexplainable. He is learning how to be sensitive to women from his dad and for that I am truely blessed. For some crazy reason Ty has been programmed that when I am wearing a dress that I need to dance with Ryan. It is so cute but don't think I don't take the time to make an excuse to put a skirt or dress on just so I can dance with my man. A boy is a precious gift from God and I pray he continues to learn from Ryan's example how to love the Lord like a TRUE man.

A day by myself
So after Ryan got home from work on Saturday I told him I needed to get out. So I left and went shopping at the mall and got some really cool clothes and then I did something I have never done before: I went to a movie alone! AWESOME! I went to see 27 dresses which by the way is amazing. I was able to eat popcorn and a drink all by myself and have no one talking to me or touching me for 5 whole hours. It was amazing. I came home to happy children and I felt so much better having time to myself. What a difference a few hours can make for a stay at home mom.

An Escape
I love my children more than anything in this world except my husband and God but I just want to run away. These past 2 weeks have been very trying. Last Tuesday Aubrey got the GI bug and threw up only once and had the other end not right for about 4 days. Wednesday night Ty said his tummy hurt but we sent him to bed anyways and at 11:15pm he woke up throwing up everywear. This continued until 5:30am. Then Thursday Ryan came home not feeling so well so stayed home from work on Friday sick as a dog but never threw up. I hurt my foot and did not know what happened to it until Wednesday I went to the doctor and found out I have a stress fracture in my right foot so I am wearing this boot thing to support my foot while it heals. Needless to say I am tired to being a care giver. I am tired of disciplining, being asked questions, tired of crying and direct disobedience, tired of cooking, ironing, laundary oh the laundary. So after Ryan gets home from work I am going to have some alone time to decompress and collect myself because right now I am good to noone. Pray for guidance, love and peace for me as I try to balance all the hats I am wearing.

Aubrey is 1!
So it is so hard to believe but Aubrey Elaine is 1! She was born January 23,2007 at 12:00pm weighing in at 8lb Ooz. She has been such a joy this past year it has been so much fun. She loved her birthday cake but loved having Gigi and Poppy here. She got some really cute gifts and as you can tell even Ty had a good time. Thank you to everyone who has had some part in her life this past year. It is amazing how fast the years seem to go when you have children. I love having kids it is great. We are so looking forward to seeing more of all of you this year as she takes on year 2. She is very laid back, funny and everyone wants to be around her because she is so happy and such a joy. There is definetly a difference between a boy and a girl and I am so bleesed to have one of each thus far. Pray as we continue to train these little blessings that have been given to us. We only have 1 child in diapers now praise the Lord. Love you all!

A Colorado Christmas
If this doesn't day it all our trip to Colorado was amazing. We had so much fun with Ryan's parents and the kids LOVED the snow. We went sledding, played in the snow, saw dear friends, went to church, sang in a choir performance, played cards, played Catch phrase and laughed a lot. The time was rejuvenating and very sad to leave. I love Colorado to visist. Ryan calls it the Promise Land, at Christmas I would tend to agree. Potty Training still going well with very little accidents. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas too!
